For a period of three years I worked in the creation of cultural initiatives in the “Estación de La Sabana”, former Railway Central Station of Bogota. This building had been closed and abandoned for almost twenty years and today, thanks to both the community and the private initiatives, is coming back to life. My work has gravitated around re-discovering this place, its history and its importance for the city, through dynamics of territorial appropiation, such as film festivals and video and photography workshops, among other artistic manifestations. With the collective effort of the surrounding community of Los Mártires district and the neighbours of the area, the station is steadily reopening and slowly gaining back its importance for the city, becoming a reference site for artistic practices in Bogota.
